Hook - Mustad 34007, 1/0
Thread - Flat waxed nylon, match foam color
Body - Fly Foam
Tail - bucktail to match body color
Underbody - cactus chenille, pearl

Comments: It's interesting how we change how we tie flies. This version of the gurgler has a cactus chenille body, but now I tie gurglers with a palmered hackle body. The gurgler was extremely effective for striped bass, and was my number one fly at dawn and dusk. Striped bass really hammer surface flies. I used yellow mostly so I could see the fly in low light conditions.
