Cape Cod Flies

In this section I share some of the patterns that formed the core of my fly box during my years fishing Cape Cod (late 1990s). I logged a lot of miles driving between home and the Cape, and walked most of the flats on the south side of the Cape, with most of my time spent in the Chatham area.

These patterns were copies of or my own versions of patterns originated by others. In some cases I am able to remember the inspiration for the pattern (and acknolwedge the originator), but in other cases that information is long gone.

All of these flies were effective on the sand flats and/or in the surf of Cape Cod. I haven't fished the Cape in three or four years, but I'm sure these patterns would be just as effective today.
