Comments: Clouser Minnows work just about everywhere on just about any fish, and they certainly work well for Striped Bass on Cape Cod. On Cape Cod, clouser minnows were typically tied sparsely to imitate sandeels or other small fish. Olive-and-white was probably my first pick, but chartreuse-and-white was also very productive. These flies worked well whether bounced along the bottom in the surf, drifted in current, or sight-cast to cruising stripers. I usually used large barbell eyes to help get the fly down in the water column. |
