Bunny Ugly

This is a variation on the original Big Ugly pattern that I originally tied for fishing for bonefish on Andros. The original has since fooled bonefish in other Bahamas locations. This new version takes advantage of the action of rabbit fur - it moves all on its own. I like this fly for situations when bonefish are a bit spooky and not really in the mood to chase flies that are stripped. Since the rabbit fur undulates just from currents that pass by, it's productive when it it allowed to stay still on the bottom, which is usually when it gets picked up by a bonefish. The fly shown below is upside down in the vise, but is shown in the orientation it would be inthe water.
